  • Russian Midi Music Lots of Russian tunes -- all in MIDI, so you'll need a MIDI-to-standard-notation tool. The site's also in Russian -- great if you have Cryllic fonts, but they do have an English mirror you can click!
  • Genius Loci Music Not a sheet music site -- instead, it promotes Sue Aston's violin CD -- and offers RealPlayer transcriptions of the 16 tracks. Really wonderful violin music -- if you have RealPlayer, give it a listen (and if you don't, you can download a free copy at this site!)
  • Rudolph's Free Sheet Music No, no, not THAT Rudolph! This is pianist Rudolph Nemeth's site -- a Czechoslovakian who was classically trained but now has a style influenced by jazz, pop, rock, classical and contemporary music. There's some wonderful piano Christmas tunes here.

  • Fiddle Licks An eGroup list started by "Lonesome Bill" -- neat idea, it's "a place where we can swap fiddle licks,learn from each other, and help each other progress". Nice source for tunes, MIDI's wav's, sheet music, slick licks, etc.
  • Blue Hen Records Jim Campilongo's (from Guitar Magazine) guitar-related site -- has a GREAT lessons portion. A recent lesson discussed how "The Best Rockabilly Players know how to spin jazzy lines over simple blues progressions." It not only discused the subject, it offered standard notation sheet music for the lesson! His "Guitar Tips" newsletter is also a treat.

  • Brent D. Stuntzner "I have over 100 pages of jazz solo transcriptions with TAB (for guitarsits), MIDI representations (for learning by ear) and Jam Tracks (for practice)." Really nicely done -- well worth a visit! I really like the MIDI accompanying the standard notation. Note that I said standard notation, not just tab! This is a good site for any treble clef instrument, not just guitars!
  • Classical and Religious Organ Midi's Very nice site -- check the "Recent Additions" menu pick to find user-submitted religious and classical organ MIDI files. I'm listening to a wonderful Pachelbel right now -- this place is worth a visit. According to the webmaster, "... is a free music ministry that provides classical & religious midi sequences to individuals & churches with limited music resources."

  • Lutheran Hymnal -- Midi Hymns Very very nice -- even versions of Celtic tunes done as organ midi hymns.
  • Theatre Pipe Organ Page I've stumbled across a mother lode of organ MIDI sites -- and here's another beauty. This on offers midi's and discussion on the glory of theater organs -- or, as the webmaster puts it: "When one speaks of theatre pipe organ they are speaking not only of the King of Instruments but the King of Organs."

  • Keyboard Online Archives and current articles from "Keyboard" magazine -- lots of (as in LOTS OF) midi file study and practice pieces. (Example -- midi's for all "25 Hammond Licks you Must Know" from "Beauty and the B"!)
  • Top 100 Guitar Solors (of all time!) Guitar tab, but neat enough to qualify! The top 100 guitar solos of all time as selected by the readers of "Guitar World". As expected, it's heavy on rock and non-existant on jazz, but it's still a good list. What makes it neat are links to tabs of the solos -- wail and shred like Jimmy or Jimi! (I must confess -- I am baffled how "Cinammon Girl" always makes these lists! And it beats "Scuttle Buttin'"!?!?!?!)

  • Cliff's Tune Page Many ABC's, GIF's, PCX's (remember those!) of traditional Irish tunes. Hammered Dulcimer oriented, but'll work for most instruments.
  • Dutch Music Site I can't read Dutch, but the webmaster offers this as a source of sheet music.
  • Polish Fireball's Chemnitzer Concertina Now we're talking -- it's Polka Time! A coupla hundred Concertina tunes in GIF format. Appear to be hand-notated with special "Concertina" instructions -- don't know for sure.

  • An Alle I believe there are original sheet music compostions here -- unfortunately, I can't read German, so I haven't found 'em yet!
  • My Sheet Music MySheetMusic.com has some fine catalogs of free sheet music. You'll find dozens of titles, sorted by category as well as alphabetically. While a majority of the pieces are classical, there is a considerable selection of music from other categories including Ragtime, Hymns, Children, Christmas, Exercizes and Choral. A majority of the pieces are available in the popular *.pdf format. Note, free downloadable manuscript paper is also available.
  • Otter's abc Music Links Links to several dozen "abc" sites -- some of which I don't think I have.
  • A to Z Sheet Music All the sheet music for piano, vocal, guitar, etc. Kinda nice -- it's a payfer sheet music store with about everything you can think of, but they'll show you the first page of each set of sheet music! (Dunno if it's true for all -- but it was for the one's I looked at)
  • Tradsoc Music Archives Nice! Get all 500-plus tunes at once in this text ABC file!
